One idea that emerged in the Revenue session this afternoon that I support is a Texas Community Media Fund. It could be a statewide fund supported by a variety of donors - both public and private - that would be used to community media development.
This could be an idea put forth to the Texas legislature - similar to the way in which a Filmmakers Fund was created.
Watch four video documentary pieces that examine the voices, the content, best examples and practices, and the potential of community media to serve basic human and community needs. The Chicago Community Media Summit was convened in June '07 at Columbia College, Chicago.
